Founded in 1994, Global Partnerships (GP) is a dynamic, growing nonprofit organization that expands opportunity for people living in poverty throughout Latin America by investing in microfinance and other innovative poverty alleviation solutions throughout Latin America. With a team of 21 employees and offices in Seattle, Washington, and Managua, Nicaragua, GP currently partners with 28 microfinance institutions in seven countries - Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru with plans to expand in the next 36 months. Through our partners we have more than $40 million in capital at work, improving 66,000 lives.
The Director of Marketing and Communications plays the lead role in guiding the organization?s external and internal communications. As the organization grows, the Marketing and Communications Director will revise, update and execute a strategic, multi-audience marketing plan to further GP?s fundraising and investment goals, in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, Chief Investment Officer, and CEO. The successful candidate will develop consistent messaging for all donor, investor and partner materials including case statements, talking points, fact sheets and presentations to support GP?s fundraising, social investment and program activities. Providing marketing support for GP hosted events, and identifying strategic, cost-efficient advertising and visibility-building opportunities to raise awareness among prospective donors and investors are also important parts of the role.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who exhibits passion for GP?s work in Latin America. You must demonstrate an intellectual spark with appreciation and enthusiasm for social impact investing. With wisdom and creativity, you have the skills to develop and execute strategic marketing and communications plans to move the organization forward. A well-rounded skill set in all forms of communications is essential as this role requires the confidence to lead the planning and implementation of comprehensive programs. Specific experience in investor relations is a plus.
A Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field such as marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing, combined with a minimum of 8 years experience in marketing and communications. Prior experience in investor relations is a plus, as is knowledge of social investment and global development. Experience in Latin America and Spanish verbal and written fluency is desirable and advantageous but not essential for success in this role.
